Hannah has been a Year 1 teacher at St Columb Minor Academy since 2018. She didn’t start her teacher training until she had her son Izaac, who is now 10 and realized that it is never too late to follow your dreams. Hannah began her teaching career as a Teaching Assistant and Lunchtime Supervisor in Newquay and gained her degree and teaching qualification whilst working in schools.
Why did Hannah choose teaching?
Hannah wanted to be a teacher from a young age, however, she got a job working for London City Airport magazine and did that for a few years. Hannah believes that all children deserve the best teaching and the best chances in life and that all children should feel happy and safe in school.
Outside of school
Hannah enjoys baking biscuits and bread for her family so much that her husband has told her that she should be a contestant on Bake Off! Hannah also loves walking with her family and has walked the A-Z of Cornwall starting at Allet and ending at Zennor (not all in one go though!).
Hannah is a huge Lego fan. She has been to Legoland twice and loves getting Lego sets for birthdays and Christmas.
